Other Programs

The California Bar Foundation administers and supports a variety of other programs in its effort to build a better justice system.

Summer Law Institute

The Foundation supports the Constitutional Rights Foundation's (CRF) Summer Law Institute (SLI), a program for high school students interested in learning about the American legal system, through a special grant. The grant helps underwrite the cost of attendance for students with financial need, and CRF has incorporated elements of the Legal Heritage Institute, a similar summer high school program the Foundation ran in 2001-2006, into the SLI curriculum. For information on SLI, please visit the CRF website.

California ALL

In 2007-2008, the Foundation supported the launching of California ALL and, as the project filed for incorporation and 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, served as California ALL's fiscal sponsor. California ALL is a partnership between the California Public Employment Retirement System, the California Public Utilities Commission, the California Department of Insurance, and the State Bar of California, formed for the purpose of closing the achievement gap among California students from preschool to the profession and, specifically, to bolster the pipeline of young people of diverse backgrounds headed for careers in law, financial services, and technology.

Partnership Grants

The Foundation supports other law-related efforts to improve the justice system by receiving targeted funds and providing grant awards to partner projects and organizations. In recent years, the Foundation has provided this service to the following partner projects and organizations:
